Summertime Song Suggestions

Every summer I used to always make a new mix-tape of summer songs to listen to in my Jeep and this morning after listening to my blog playlist I decided it needed to be freshened up again. So, I'm on the hunt for some good summer songs, hopefully some new ones I've never heard before to mix in with my old favorites.
Any suggestions?!?!

I was watching a summer concert series on direct tv a few days ago and they had Ben Harper and the Relentless 7. I hadn't heard that Ben Harper was with a group now, their songs were blues rock and were really good. I think you'd like it. The album is "White Lies for Dark Times/"

Hey Marci,
Here are a few you might like:

Keep it loose, keep it tight by Amos Lee

Plans (album) by Death Cab for Cutie (you probably know that one)and the song Movie Script Ending, also by Death Cab

Secret Heart, 1 2 3 4, Mushaboom, I feel it all- by Feist

The Shepherds Dog (album) by Iron and Wine

Careless Love (album) by Madeleine Peyroux- this album has a mellow, jazzy sound and a cover of Between the Bars by Eliot Smith.

Pachuca Sunrise by Minus the Bear, and really.. the whole album Menos el Oso

Casimir Pulaski Day by Sufjan Stevens- everything he does is beautiful

Hope you like a few of these! :o)

Hey Marci-

I just saw in a magazine "Jillian's top 10 summer songs!" and thought maybe you'd like some of these:

1) "You Found Me" by The Fray
2) "Rush Rush" by Paula Abdul
3) "I'm on Fire" by Bruce Spingsteen
4) "Ride" by Martine McBride
5) "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler
6) "Breakdown" by Jack Johnson
7) "Small Town" by John Mellencamp
8) "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey
9) "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield
10) "Fishin' in the Dark" by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

... maybe not #10 though :)
