Big News in Our House

Ella has her FIRST loose tooth!
This is exciting stuff!
Earlier this week she came over and told me that her tooth hurt. I asked her which one and she pointed to one of her little bottom teeth. When I touched it and it moved I freaked out (in a good way) and exclaimed, "You have a loose tooth!"
The next thing Ella told me after I informed her of the loose tooth was that she didn't want money from the tooth fairy, she wanted a lollipop. Kids are so silly!

(I have the slowest teeth on the face of the earth, so I'm especially happy for Ella to have a loose one at a normal age. When I was in kindergarten I had first graders in my class too and EVERYONE lost teeth like crazy. All I wanted that whole school year was to get one of the cool tooth necklaces the kids who lost teeth got. It was late into 1st grade that I finally lost one (and for the record, I didn't get anything cool for it!)...not to mention I still had a baby tooth left when Mike and I got engaged. The dentist finally pulled it out and put braces on me to pull the permanent one down in time for the wedding.)

So, we have Ella losing teeth, Preston finally getting more teeth in, and then there is me feeling sad that everyone is growing up so fast! (good thing Addie has reverted to baby talk half the day, right?! :-)

Some videos of the girls talking (just for our own family record :-)...

And from girls' night to celebrate Emily's birthday. I definitely felt old this morning when I could not wake up after my late night out :-)!

(Preston likes to be IN the fridge...and I mean literally in it. He will stand up on the little ledge and then close the door as much as he can on himself and just stand there. He doesn't try to get the food out (which is surprising considering what he does to the contents of the cabinets), he just enjoys the cool air and then gets VERY mad when I take him out.)

Getting good news...
(it's a little wrinkly because Ella proudly held her "happy note" in her hands the whole bus ride home)

Officially One year Older

I really had such a great birthday this year! My friend Emily offered to watch Addie and Preston on Monday so I could have some "me" time and she kept them ALL day long. I went grocery shopping, which although isn't too exciting, was much easier to do all by myself :-) and then I did some FUN shopping with my birthday money and gift card from my parents and grandparents. I got this super cute new purse and a deluxa sports bra, which may not sound like anything much, but I think it will seriously change my life :-). For any of you needing some extra support, I highly recommend the Juno by Moving Comfort.

I stopped by Chipotle and picked myself up some lunch (my fave: the pork burrito bowl) and came home to eat and watch Brothers and Sisters without any distractions...heaven :-). Later that night Ella picked out some flowers with Mike for me and our little family went out to eat Mexican food and then came home for dessert.
We were all looking a little grungy by the time we headed out for dinner :-).

I just thought Preston looked so little sitting at the big table.

All 3 of our kids have LOVED lemons and limes.
This was Preston's first one and I was all ready to catch his "this is sour face" but of course he wasn't phased and just devoured it.

Yesterday my mom brought by a gluten-free cupcake from Craves Cupcakes downtown (it was SO good!) and today Mckell brought me my favorite beef kabobs from Red Oak Grill for lunch. (can you tell I like food?!) Mike and I still need to get out on a date, but after days of celebrating and eating WAY too much yummy food, I think I'm officially ready to start my last year in my 20's!
I better live it up, right?! Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone :-)!
(here's a little video of Ella and Preston playing earlier that day)

pre-Birthday party

Sunday morning we ate a yummy breakfast, got ready for church and said our good-byes to Papa and Chloe.

All that dress-up, make-up fun with Ella after church was too much for Addie to handle and she fell asleep on the short drive to Nana and Grandad's house still holding on to her "married girl" apparel (aka: veil).

After church we headed over to my parent's house to celebrate both my birthday and Hope's birthday (which is only 3 days after mine). Hope and I requested enchiladas for dinner and she requested a red velvet cake (I requested some rocky road ice cream). It was fun and delicious and especially nice to just sit and relax at the table while everyone cleaned up and played with the kiddos :-)! I asked Mike to capture the fun and he put his great artistic spin on it all. Day 2 of birthday celebrating was another success!

Preston recently has become very interested in cars. I think his car noise is just about the cutest thing I've ever heard :-)!
