Ella's BIG Birthday!!!

Friday was Ella's special day and her breakfast choice was McDonald's...no doughnuts this year.
We went to a McDonald's that was a little further a way and they had quite a unique playground that the kids loved (and we had the place to ourselves which is always SO nice). Before we left I showed Addie the 2 presents that were going to be from her and Preston and asked her which one she wanted to give to Ella (I was going to bring theirs to McD's for Ella to open). Addie picked the Barbie DVD to be from her and as soon as she got in the car with Ella told her all about it :-), so we let Ella open it on the drive since she already knew what it was. It's hard to keep such exciting secrets, even for 20 minutes.

When we got home from breakfast we gave Ella her present from Mom and Dad...it was kind of big so we didn't wrap it and just had her cover her eyes until the reveal...

It is princess Tiana's wedding dress and you can tell Ella feels like a princess when she wears it :-)!

We met up at the pool for a little while with Laurie and her cute girlies

and then came home to bake the cupcakes for Ella's big party that later that afternoon.

Mike took some pre-party pics of the birthday girl, and then it was off to Chuck E Cheese to let the fun begin :-)!
(I just have to say, this was the first time we had the party at a location other than our house and it is THE way to go! So much less stressful for me and actually not much more expensive than if I had bought everything to do a fun at home party...although limiting the people she could invite to 10 was really hard for Ella. Chuck E Cheese is definitely the best bang for your buck I found when shopping around and Ella (and Addie) LOVED it and had a blast!)

I spied the girls from afar trying to both get into a picture together. Ella was lifting Addie up and Addie was making the same crazy face she always tries to make in pictures now :-).

Ella worked sooo hard to finally get this thing to "fly", and was so proud when she succeeded!

In my opinion, the coolest thing about having your birthday party at Chuck E Cheese is getting a turn in this Ticket Blaster! Ella didn't want to do it, so we sent in Uncle Scotto and he didn't disappoint, he grabbed a handful of the big point tickets. Unfortunately, I recorded the video vertically instead of horizontally, but you get the idea. I'm totally jealous :-)!

When we got home Ella finished opening her presents and loved them all!!! Thanks to all her little friends...they obviously know Ella well :-)!

Since it was her birthday, Ella then got to stay up as late as she wanted. She played with some of her new toys, cuddled and watched Project Runway with me, and played on the computer. She made it until 10:30pm this year...and was still up at 7am the next morning :-). Happy Birthday Ella, we LOVE you!!!

happy birthday Ella!! This was such a great post - I showed it to Eli to get him excited about earning a Chuck E Cheese trip once he fills his jar with marbles... we're using it as his incentive to keep his pullup dry at night. So far it's sort of working.

It looks like Ella had such fun celebrating her birthday! We love the marching band videos above this too. They were fun to listen to and my boys were dancing around.
