Parade Watching, Candy Collecting (and lots of pictures)

Ever since our disappointment with Dewberry Farm last year, I have been looking forward to the Katy Rice Festival as our alternative fall fun. It turns out we will be in Dallas the weekend of the Festival though so I was really excited when I found out that the parade was this weekend and we could still participate in part of the Katy fun. Mike had work, so I packed up the kids and some snacks and we headed down to Old Katy early Saturday morning. This was seriously THE best parade ever! It was not super crowded (there were plenty of great seats to be had) and the kids got TONS, and I mean TONS, of candy and necklaces. They were heaven! Preston loved seeing all the cars, trucks, motorcycles and animals that passed us by...oh, and the lollipops were pretty good too :-)! I think he ate 3 while we sat there. We will definitely be headed back again next year!

Guess who was excited when all the dogs started coming (the dogs in the stroller were her favorite)...

Addie and Ella scurried after the candy thrown their way as fast as they could! Preston especially got excited about these huge trucks.

There were sooo many golden retrievers! We felt like we were on the set of an Air Bud movie...Ella thought it was great! They passed out some little goodie bags with dog bones in them that the girls are saving them for Rembrandt and Rusty on our next trip to San Antonio :-).

The HEB truck...or as Addie calls it, "H-2-B" (we have no idea how she came up with that)

How fun! I didn't even know they have that. We'll have to check it out next year. We did go to Dewberry Farms again this year, but we went opening weekend and got there right when they opened, so it wasn't as crazy as it has been when we've gone in previous years.

What a cool parade! I'm jealous that it's still warm enough for flip-flops! It's starting to get coldish up here and I'm just crossing my fingers it doesn't rain this weekend when we're supposed to visit the pumpkin patch.
