It's a Purple Cat Party!!!

Addie's two very favorite things right now are cats and the color purple, and they are really more obsessions than favorites. So, that is of course what kind of party she wanted. I told this to my sister Kayley, of Pink Coconut Designs, and she came up with this ADORABLE invitation that was absolutely perfect.
(she also did my Three Peas Photography logos)

Addie really chose who to invite...her age group at church is HUGE so she couldn't have everyone come. It was cute to hear her tell me "she is nice to me, I want her to come!"
My mom, of Pineapple Hill Designs, made Addie her special purple birthday shirt.

The night before her big day, Addie was so excited! We all painted our nails purple-except the boys. Preston was really sad about it, crying, "Nails, nails" he doesn't understand why he was left out :-( poor guy.
We laid Addie's birthday outfit out and Ella picked out her own outfit (a cat print shirt to go with the cat party theme). When I went to help Addie get in bed we saw these cute notes from Ella...so sweet!
this one said: Happy Birthday!!!

I didn't do anything super cute theme-wise for the party...I just decorated with purple. The brilliant plan I had was to rent a bounce house for the day, let the kids jump, feed them and call it good. It was the easiest party ever (especially since my mom offered to bring the cupcakes, which were SO cute, and Kayley made the happy birthday banner)! I bought a bunch of those medium sized colored balls they always have at the grocery store and threw them in the bounce house with the kids and then they each got to take one home for their party gift at the end.
The only dilemma came when Mike went to pick up chicken nuggets at McDonalds to go with our fruit and chips at 10:30am, only to find out they don't serve lunch until 11am on Saturday! Who knew?! The kids were all starving :-) and hovering around the other food on the table, so we opened presents first and then when Mike came back they ate, had cupcakes and played some more until their parents came.
We were the first house to get their bounce house dropped off Saturday morning, and they were here at 7:30am. The kids could not WAIT until it was set up. None of them ate more than a bite of breakfast, all they wanted to do was get out there and play!

We knew it was a princess castle, but it ended up being mostly purple...so purrfect :-)!

Addie and I ran to the grocery store that morning to get some purple balloons and took a few pictures when we got home before we used them to decorate. I looove the one I posted already and wish I had thought of doing this beforehand so we had a cuter background, but oh well. I'm planning Preston's birthday pictures now :-)! Here are a couple more with the balloons...

All the fun purple decor, the cutest cat cupcakes ever (thanks mom!) and Mike's sweet chicken nugget display once he returned after hanging out at McD's for 30 minutes. (thanks mike!) (and thanks to grandma, kayley and hopie for all their help too)

We all really wished those chicken nuggets would have been ready at 10:30am! Preston seemed content with his apple slice though.

Ella was sometimes taking over the present opening a little out of her own excitement and I told her to go sit back by my mom. It hurt her feelings and she started crying that now she couldn't see the presents.

Sweet Jacob, who had been helping Addie at the time because she was opening his present, went and held it up right by Ella so she could see it too. It was so cute!

cupcake time,

and time to say good-bye.
Addie had so much fun with her friends and got so many things that she LOVES! Her little buddies know her well :-) and we were thankful so many of them could come and share her special day.
(and I was super thankful for the PERFECT weather!!! it rained later that afternoon)
After everyone left, Addie wanted to eat one more cupcake, outside, with a fork. :-)
