So we rushed over to Addie's school right after Ella's last dance and made it with a few minutes to spare before the program started. Grammy, Hope, Kayley and Oliver made the mad dash too and Grandad and Nana came right from the airport and got there just in time to see Addie's performance begin. I was a little nervous about what Addie would do during the "show" because sometimes it can be a gamble with her when she has an audience, but she did awesome! Way to go Adeline! The little program was to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, one of our all time favorite books so I think that helped.
While the teachers took the kids off stage to prepare for the graduation ceremony, a little slide show with pictures from the year played. I took pictures of a few of the ones with Addie in them.
And then the graduates entered...looking thrilled :-).
With her teacher Miss Cari, we sure loved her!
And with some of our other favorite friends from the year
(the one we missed a picture with was Vince who I heard a lot about during the year)...
these two were hilarious together...and got into lots of mischief :-)
And with the rest of her adoring fans...
The year was full of ups and downs, and many humbling moments as a parent for me but in the end things were going really well. I am so thankful for Addie's teacher and the helpers who loved her no matter what and especially grateful that I was able to figure her out myself a bit through it all. Adeline wowed everyone with her artistic abilities and made everyone laugh (whether or not she was supposed to :-), she made good friends, loved to share her creations and pets with her class, and was always excited when it was a school day. Now, of course, she is looking forward to kindergarten. She was accepted into the Two-Way Immersion program that Ella has been in and I am so excited about it, especially because our favorite teacher is still there and I'm so happy Addie will have her too! Congratulations to Addie Cat for overcoming all the "hard" things and succeeding!
