Washington - Our Weekend with the Oliversons

We were able to spend a few days relaxing at Chrissy and Zach's house in DuPont. They fed us yummy food, we were able to go on a double date (thanks to Chloe, who was visiting them from TX too, babysitting), and we enjoyed having some down time from our busy traveling schedule. Ella loved being the big cousin and taking care of cute Mac. We had to remind her a couple times that he is a real baby :-), but I'm glad she loves her little cousins so much! Mike and I had been so internet deprived up until this point that we were on the computers a lot while there catching up on life. After Janna got us started on the Batman flicks, we were ready to see the 2nd one so we could see the latest while it was in the theater. Lucky for us, they owned it! So, we watched #2 on Friday and then Saturday was our big date. I had spent the day with Sara and Mike was taken golfing by Chrissy and Zach for his birthday. Our fun day got even better when we went on our date that night. It was so nice to have a break from the kids (thank you, thank you, Chloe!). We went to dinner at Black Angus (one of our favorite date spots when we were at BYU) and then to see the new Batman at this awesome theater that has reclining seats. And I mean, serious reclining...it was almost as good as laying in your bed to watch the movie! Other highlights of our time with the Oliverson clan was getting fish and chips, catching the end of the air show by accident and playing on the super cool playground by their condo (which Chrissy has decorated SOOO cute!). Their time in Washington is short so it was fun that we got to see them while they are there! Thanks for being such great hosts guys!

Washington: An Afternoon with Sara

We stayed with Chrissy and Zach most of the time we were in Washington, but Saturday afternoon I drove the kids up to Seattle to visit another of my college roommates, Sara. Ella was very interested in the silly stories I told about Sara back in our college days on the drive there :-). Our visit was shorter than I would have liked, but we fit in lots of fun while we could. My crazy kids loved Sara's crazy boys. Preston and Gideon especially hit it off while we explored the zoo and I loved chatting back at their place afterward. Addie loved learning about which plants are edible on our walk there...she would love living with Sara and getting to explore the outdoors constantly. The best part of our RV trip was definitely getting to meet the families of some of my favorite people! Thanks for the fun afternoon Sara (and the homemade bread, Rob!).
