On Monday morning (9th), we got ready and started out on our way to Denver. We made a stop near Colorado Springs to see the Garden of the Gods. It was beautiful and the kids loved having a chance to hike around on the rocks a bit in the fresh air. We did a lot of fun things during our 2 days in Colorado and Addie still claims "climbing the mountains" to be her favorite of all the stops. She decided she wants to be a mountain climber and live in the mountains. I told her I would come visit in the summers :-).
Some of the things keeping them busy on the drive...
Ella had the idea to make her notebook a trip journal all on her own and I love it! She also told me she doesn't like writing at school because they tell you what to write about but she likes writing on her own :-).
I got Addie this bag to color thinking she would work on it over a couple days...she was done in an hour.
Ella chose the heart design first from her little friendship making kit. It is quite a process and has become a team effort :-)! Although the result is cool I told her I would show her how I learned to make them when we are done with this one because then she can do it on her own.
And finally, pictures from the Garden of the Gods!
A nice guy saw me taking a picture of everyone and asked if we wanted a family photo...and he did a good job too!
We ate some lunch and were back on the road to Denver...
and Preston was tired out from all his hiking.
