So, it's actually the Museum of Ancient Life, but I'm calling it what it is...a museum full of dinosaurs. I remember going to a museum with big dinosaur skeletons when I was little in California but my kids have never been to one, so when Sara told me how awesome the one in Utah at Thanksgiving Point is I thought it would be the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Emily and her kids were in Utah by then and were able to meet us there and Mike got to spend an afternoon fishing some of his favorite spots, so it all worked out perfectly. We had a lot of fun and especially enjoyed the hands-on areas. Once we had walked all the exhibits we stopped in the gift shop where Addie used some of her money to buy a little stuffed Eagle, whom she named Eaglee. We were sitting at a picnic table outside the museum eating our lunch when a little boy walked by with his grandpa and I remarked to Emily how much he looked like a little boy from our ward here in Katy. She yelled out "Mason" and it was him! None of the boys wanted to take a picture, but it was pretty crazy that all these little guy from Katy, TX happened to be at the museum in Utah at the exact same time! After some lunch we headed down to the gardens area where there was a splash pad and some other fun obstacles to explore. It was hot and sunny, but the kids loved spending some time being free to run around wherever they wanted!
raptors freak me out ever since Jurassic Park :-)
