After our visit with Brooke with headed into Salt Lake City to explore temple square. We had a little tour of the Conference Center, which while informative, was challenging with Addie and Preston in tow. They got crazy the instant we walked in. We walked around the temple grounds, stopped in the visitors centers and lastly check out the new children's area of the church history museum. The kids loved it and I wished we had allowed more time for our visit there; they were all sad to leave.
I had been planning on 2 major things during the Utah leg of the trip for Ella...getting pictures of her in her baptism dress in front of the temple and buying her own set of scriptures and getting her name put on them at the BYU Bookstore. Neither went quite how I planned. It was SO sunny the day we were in Salt Lake and Ella has sensitive eyes, so we took a couple pictures but then called it good and I'm going to have to take some more in Katy. When we were at the bookstore the next day and went to pick out her scriptures she knew she wanted blue or teal. There were hardly any scriptures at all on the shelves and the girl working explained to us that the church is releasing new ones around Christmas time and until then is only clearing out all the old merchandise. So what was there was there and she told us they had the best selection available because they bought out much of the existing stock. After talking about whether to settle on a version they had or wait and get what she really wanted we decided to wait. They aren't cheap so I want her to be happy with them, but I am still sad that she won't be getting them when she is baptized.
Preston was ready to jump in and swim...they were missing the pool
I do love these ones...
After our Salt Lake stop we headed down to Provo and found a place to park the RV for the night before jumping in the car to check out our old stomping grounds. It is always fun to be back in Provo and remember all the fun we had there. Ella was so excited to see the hospital that she was born at and we showed her the townhouse we lived in when she was born. Making the decision of where to eat that night was SO HARD...there are so many good options :-). In the end we went with Cafe Rio, because you can't go wrong with that! We stopped by a playground and enjoyed the nice evening weather to let the kids get some wiggles out before it was off to bed.
