4th of July Fun and Mike is 35!

Wow, it seems like this was WAAAY longer than a week ago! We have been driving around the country the past week and I don't feel like I have been home in forever. But anyway, right before we headed out on our big trip, we celebrated the 4th of July with my family and we also celebrated Mike turning 35 on June 30th...quite a milestone. I had meant to have a family party at our house on his actual birthday but between finishing up photo shoots, planning for the trip, swim team and taking the kids out for some fun summer activities, it just didn't happen. We still made sure he felt special though!
The morning of the 4th we all overslept and missed our church breakfast (that I was actually planning to go to this year!) but we did catch our neighborhood parade and Ella and I ran over to the mall to figure out family photo shoot outfits for our trip (who knew the 4th was a big sale day?!).
I was a little sad that this 4th of July we wouldn't have either of my brothers home to put on a fireworks show for us, but then at the last minute Scotto came home from Kansas to celebrate. Whew :-). It was a fun evening of swimming, chatting, yummy food and of course, fireworks.
