We managed to get everything done Sunday night...clothes picked out, backpacks ready, curlers in Ella's hair and of course our back to school father's blessings. Monday morning the kids woke excited for the big day. Ella requested puffed pancakes and sausage for breakfast and Addie, who is not a big breakfast eater, just wanted her usual cereal :-). Grammy came over to hang out with Preston while I took the girls to the school. She has done this for me every single year since Ella started kindergarten and it is pretty crazy to think that next year I will be taking all three kiddos for their first day at the big school!
I was a little nervous about dropping Addie off this year. She got pretty clingy over the summer (I don't know if it was from being around so many new people during our travels or what) and constantly wants to be holding my hand when we go places now. We took Ella first and she is an old pro at this now! Then it was off to Addie's room. She seemed a little nervous and wouldn't answer me when I asked her questions, but when I left she waved and seemed ok.
Preston and I thought about the girls all day and kept ourselves plenty busy. We ended up being gone pretty much the entire school day and before we knew it we were headed back to the school to pick them up. They both said their days had gone well! I took a few more pictures of them after school since it had been rainy that morning and we headed home for yummy special snacks.
Nana stopped by with a first day of school treat and we had our fancy dinner which made the kids happy :-). Our theme for this year is "Be Prayerful".
I think this is going to be a great school year! And I should see a lot more of the girls at school since I'm taking pictures for the yearbook this year. I just needed something to fill my spare time with, haha :-)!
