Thanksgiving Day 2013

Mike had been slowly getting sick from the time we left Houston earlier in the week and by Thanksgiving morning he was pretty miserable, poor guy. He toughed it out for a few activities and then was asleep by 8:30pm that night :). I did a quick photo shoot with the Millers that morning since we had been rained out back at home and then we all got ready to go to the pool. It was CHILLY outside, but the water in the pool was heated and the kids could not wait to go. Now, I personally would have appreciated the water being about 10 degrees warmer, but they didn't seem to mind :-). I really want to go back and stay at the resort again in the spring or summer and take full advantage of the water slides and lazy river! We headed back to the rooms to warm up, relax and get gorgeous for our big feast. It was a gigantic buffet with more food than we could handle and all of it was pretty darn good! As we were leaving the banquet hall there was a line of people getting really cool balloon animals made. ALL the kids wanted one but we were pretty convinced it was going to be expensive (since everything at the hotel was :-). I told them they needed to find out how much they were if they wanted one (being brave in these situations is something we have been working on). It was hilarious and adorable to see the three of them trying to convince one another who should do the talking. Eventually they decided they wanted a balloon animal bad enough to go ask and all went together. When they turned around to come back to us their little faces were SOOO excited and they started running back yelling, "they are free! they are free!" It still makes me laugh to remember :-). So we got in line and even though it was a long time (over an hour), it was worth the wait. These were two crazy talented balloon makers! Preston wanted an orange jet, Addie a reindeer and Ella ended up going with an octopus after watching them make some others. The octopus was my favorite, complete with bubbles and everything! It was a nice relaxing Thanksgiving day and we were completely stuffed at the end, which is the point of Thanksgiving, right?!
