On the Road

Thursday, April 17th, the kids had a half day but Mike still had a full day unfortunately. I picked them up and we made sure to have the car all loaded and ready to go for our road trip so we could leave for Florida as soon as Mike got home. That first day we drove to Baton Rouge, LA and stopped for the night. The next morning we ended up waking up earlier than expected (after some arguing about who was pulling the covers from Ella and Preston :-) so we loaded up on a yummy breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then made our way to St. Augustine. Everyone else was arriving that evening as well and we were planning to all meet up for dinner right by our hotel at 7pm. We ended up with a couple hours to spare in between so we took the kids down to the pool to get some wiggles out. They had been sitting in the car for 9 hours after all. A big rain storm came through right after we got started in the outdoor pool, but luckily our hotel had an indoor one as well. They had so much fun just playing together!
We got them all showered and cleaned up and then headed to dinner. It was so fun to have everyone (almost, Scotto didn't arrive until late that night) together again and a great way to start our 2 days of Florida fun!

Nana had brought the kids' Easter presents to the restaurant and they were excited to open them. They also helped keep them entertained during what ended up being a long meal :-).
