Mother's Day Weekend

This might be more aptly titled "Our children can now all ride bikes!!!", but it happened to occur on mother's day weekend and there were some other events involved, AND it was of course Mother's Day.
Friday, the 9th, we got to the school early for our Morning with Mom. They had bacon and french toast for the moms and doughnuts for the kids. It was a little crazy, but the kids like going and with all 3 attending the school next year I'm sure we will be back (last year we went out for our own breakfast instead).

That afternoon the kids had yummy treats from Nana and Preston had a fun playdate at Ian's.

On Saturday, the 10th, the kids FINALLY got to invite some friends over to play. It has been a long time coming and it was tough picking who to have. We are hoping for lots more playdates now that school is over!

I had photo shoots that night and came home to find that Preston had a bike (Mike went and bought him one on a whim)...and he could ride it without training wheels! AND Ella could ride it without them too (yes, she is 9 1/2 and we had never taught her...she was petrified at age 6 and we never tried again). Addie girl wasn't quite there yet but at least she wanted to learn too.

I've been wanting us to all have bikes so we can go on family bike rides now that everyone is growing up, so we went for it! We headed to the store and then to the track to try them out. The track is a great place to practice riding bikes because you don't have to stop and it's soft when you fall. Mike is such a genius :-). (and Preston was such a good sport to ride Addie's and let Addie ride his since it had training wheels on it)

For Mother's Day all I really wanted was breakfast in bed and I got a yummy feast from Mike and the kids and some really, really cute cards. We went on a family bike ride and then were off to church. After church we ended up having Preston's family birthday party at our house. Not an ideal Mother's Day activity for me :-), but it was the only weekend that worked close to his birthday. That will be the next post!
