We ate a little snack at the Exploratorium and then headed over to the California Academy of Sciences.
It is in Golden Gate Park, which is a beautiful area with all kinds of cool museums and gardens. As we were walking over we heard a band playing and came across this cute little group of retired musicians who play together in the park. They weren't amazing, but you definitely can't beat that setting for a show. We only listened for a bit and then headed into the museum so we would have enough time to look around before they closed at 5pm.
It was another amazing place! It was also a little more manageable as far as size and we were able to get through the entire place with just enough time. There was a really impressive aquarium, a whole rain forest, a planetarium, and some other cool exhibits like the skulls and an earthquake simulator. Preston saw the earthquake part on the map when we first got there and really wanted to go to it. The whole time we were there he was asking when we were going to the earthquake. Then when we finally got there and were in the little house that experienced the "earthquake" and he freaked out. We barely made it through our shaky experience without having to take him out early. Silly Prest :-).
We were planning to get yummy sandwiches at Ike's for dinner and when we passed a little hot dog stand on the way back to the car we got those for Addie and Preston instead. It was cheaper and they were just as happy and then the rest of us enjoyed the yummy sandwiches. I got mine on gluten free bread and I couldn't believe how good that bread was. THE most normal tasting GF bread I have had in my life.
