We started the day with a big yummy breakfast, that was one of the best old-school-traditional breakfasts I have had! Then we needed to get some exercising in so we would be kind of hungry again later in the day :-).
Since Coyote Hills was one of our favorite stops in the Bay Area last year, we were sure to go again. Because of the drought California is in right now, it was crazy the difference in how things looked! There is a picture at the end of this post that shows the marsh area COMPLETELY dry (and if you look at the post from last year you will see a whole series of pictures of us sitting by water). So although, it wasn't as beautiful overall, it was still pretty in a more desert-y way :-).
We hiked around on some different peaks this time around and stopped in the visitor's center at the end before heading to 7-Eleven for a refreshing slurpee (it was also much warmer this year than last!). When we all walked up to the counter with 5 slurpees and one bag of chips and the guy told us the total was 99 cents we were totally confused. He explained the slurpees were free because the date was 7/11! Hooray! I asked him to take a picture, of course, and we were sure to get more free slurpees after dinner as well!
My favorite Mexican food in Fremont is La Casita and it did not disappoint. YUM! What I'd give for another meal there today :-).
