On the Road!

We were up before the sun on Wednesday, July 2nd, and headed out on our big road trip adventure!
Those first two days were lots and lots and lots of driving. 14 hours day one, stopping in Albuquerque, and nearly 10 hours day two, making it to Provo. Our kids are car riding pros by this point though and are so great about not needing to stop for bathroom breaks and just settling in with movies and activities in their seats. It's once we arrive at our final stop and they know we are close that things get crazy :-).

The next day we made a stop in Price, UT to check out their Prehistoric Museum. We had never been and it was surprisingly good! Since we weren't going to make it to the big dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point this year I was especially glad that we did this one.

Mike and I spent a lot of time exploring Nine Mile Canyon when we lived in Utah and we took the kids a couple years ago (pics HERE), so it was pretty cool to see this pot that was recently discovered in the area!

Then we made it to Provo where our food adventures began! Los Hermanos is always convenient and a relaxing place to enjoy our first shredded beef tacos. We also went over to Sammy's to try out their milkshakes. They put a piece of pie in them! Unfortunately we had terrible timing getting there right after a group of like 20 people. The staff was completely overwhelmed by them and our shakes were not great. We ordered a mint oreo pie and a pumpkin cheesecake but they both tasted minty. We did get some fries too though and those were pretty delicious...especially with fry sauce :-). Then it was off to the hotel to get some sleep before the 4th of July!
