Our Day at BYU

Sunday night Ella got to spend the night with Hope in the dorms. She ate dinner with Hopie and her roommates and the next morning (the 7th) went to her 2 hour biology class. I'm sure she paid attention the whole time :-). She did think it was super awesome though and felt like the coolest 9 year old around.
Because she really wanted to stay for class in the morning though we ended up skipping Heritage Park in SLC, which had been our original plan for that morning. I took the train back down south from my girls' weekend and we met up with Hope and Ella at the Museum of Art for lunch. Hope had to go to one more class so we did our BYU exploring and bookstore shopping while she was gone and then we met back up with her and headed to the Bean Museum. The last two years when we have been in Utah it has been closed for renovations so we were so excited to FINALLY get to take the kids this year. It is waaaay cooler than it used to be, and although a bit crowded, was still pretty fun. We stopped by the Provo Bakery for some sugar cookie goodness, drove around a bit more and then met up with Heber for dinner at a Mexican restaurant my friend Kirsten told me about that was really yummy.
We ended up skipping the athletic building and a couple other stops at BYU partly because it was both hotter than usual and partly because it was more crowded as well. I think there may have been more EFY and sports camps going on still because we were there earlier in the month. It is still fun to be back though and I am so happy for Hope that she is loving it as much as I did!

The truth about vacationing with kids?
half the time they look like this...and the other half they are having fun...I hope :-).

Bah, I need to find an excuse to go visit Provo. The Bean sure looks fancy now!
