Saturday Fun with Jonathan and Caitlin

Friday night we drove up to stay with Jonathan and Caitlin in their new home (which was so cute). They were such great hosts and even had ice cream ready for our arrival...a sure way to win our children's hearts :-).
We got the kids all settled in for bed but I kept hearing scurrying little feet above as we visited. Preston even popped his head downstairs a couple times before eventually the noise stopped. When we headed upstairs for bed ourselves all I could see were little toes sticking out over the top step and there was Preston sound asleep on the hard wood floor. Silly guy.
Caitlin is a super runner and the next morning, being Saturday (12th), she ran 15 miles. I think she is crazy but also amazing. She doesn't just run far, she runs fast. While she was out we walked over to playground with the kiddos. They did the usual running around and then discovered a little peach tree...how cool if our school had it's own peach tree!...and ate plenty of baby peaches as well.
When we all got back it was off to lunch at a food truck park. This was so fun, and so stressful! So many good food options to try and I just wanted them all. There is one in Houston I have heard of and we will have to check it out in a few months once we have recovered from all our trip eating :-). The frozen custard we ended with was definitely delicious!
Afterwards we headed to a park to enjoy the lovely California weather. It was such a pretty park on a hillside, with playgrounds and shade and soft grass, ahhh. We played bocce ball for the first time and the kids loved it! I don't know how I have gone my whole life without playing games like corn hole and bocce ball...where have I been?!
It was such a perfect visit with Jonathan and Caitlin and hopefully it won't be too long before we see them again!
