Beach Day with the Nixons

Wednesday, the 16th, we continued our drive down the California coast. It was such a pretty drive and we spotted all kinds of interesting sights...dolphins, pelicans, weird people :-). We got In N Out for lunch which was once again delicious and then pulled up to the Nixons' house right around 1pm. Sheree was my first friend when we moved to Houston and we would take our little babies on walks around Memorial Park most weekday mornings. They moved to Dallas a couple years later and more recently to southern California. It had been a few years since I last saw her and I was especially excited to meet 2 year old James, whose crazy adventures I read about on Instagram. He definitely is super cute and super crazy :-). And baby Isla is cute as can be. The older kids all had a blast playing together. We went to the beach, something our kids had been DYING to do, and then headed back to their house. Our kids were once again in heaven...fun friends to play with, an awesome backyard, legos (for Preston), and normal yummy food for dinner. Thanks for the fun visit guys! We are looking forward to seeing you in Texas!

I brought the camera down to the beach for a bit, took a ton of pictures quickly, and then had Mike put it in the car. I was sooo worried about sand getting in it! So there are quite a few phone pics in the bunch.

James fell and got a pretty good scrape on his arm. The lifeguards, who are his buddies, helped get him bandaged up and then all the kids got to go into their offices and pick out some treats.
