Adeline's Baptism Weekend

Saturday, January 31st, was Adeline's baptism day. It is at moments like this that I am especially grateful that we have so much of our family close by! Brittany played piano and Kayley led the music, Grammy and GreatFrog gave the prayers, Grandad and Papa were the witnesses, and the talks were by Meema (on baptism) and Nana (on Holy Ghost). Addie was excited as the day got closer and a little nervous as well. Since her reactions are very honest, and also unpredictable, I had no idea what to expect as far as how she would feel about the day, and she was adorable. When she first came out of the water and I was helping her change she told me she wanted to do it again and told Mike and I on more than one occasion that afternoon that she felt different when she came out of the water. So cute :-). We are so proud of her and so thankful to everyone who came and helped make her feel special on this important day!
(and thanks Emily for getting there early to help get the group shots for me!)

We headed to Babin's that afternoon with Mike's family for a tasty meal, the cousins played on our new neighborhood playground, and Addie played many rounds of Catopoly with everyone the rest of that day :-).

The next day was Super Bowl Sunday and we had all my family coming over for the game and to celebrate Addie and Kayley's birthdays. That morning Addie woke up complaining of a headache. I never know with something like that how serious it is so I told her if she still wasn't feeling well after sacrament meeting that dad would take her home. He ended up leaving with her during sacrament meeting because she was acting so tired and out of it that we knew she was really sick. By that night she was burning up with a fever, so she spent most the party laying up in our bed watching My Little Ponies. She did come down long enough to open her presents and LOVED everything she got. She sleeps with her Princess Celestia pony every night, uses her My Little Pony water bottle for school each day, and is excited to try out her other crafty stuff. Addie especially loves her adorable quilt from Nana which she told me the next morning is her favorite blanket ever.
