Funky Friday 2015

The kids, especially Preston who is an official Fielder Falcon this year :-), were super excited for Funky Friday on April 17th. The school's annual spring carnival is definitely a highlight of the school year for them (last year and previous years HERE).
At the trunk or treat in the fall I bid and won "fast passes" for the event. Since the lines for the cool attractions can get really long, we were super excited. It ended up being a good thing we had them because after less than an hour outside, rain and thunder shut down all the outdoor events and the entire crowd was forced inside. It was a mad house in there. We ate our dinners, did a couple games and the cake walk and then bribed the kids with going to a gas station to pick out candy so that we didn't have to wait in line for the cake walk again :-).
We were able to make it through all the big things but it was still a bummer to not get to play in all the bounce houses and just enjoy what is usually a nice spring evening outside. The weather for 2015 has really been a disaster so far, particularly on the weekends. This past week and weekend were gorgeous though, so we are trying to enjoy the good weather when it makes an appearance. Hopefully next year the weather will cooperate!

It was a different zip line than a couple years ago and there was a weight requirement of 60 lbs. When they weighed Addie she was 58.6 and wouldn't let her go. So we borrowed Ella's friend's tennis shoes, my friend's hoodie and stuck Mike's wallet in the back of her pants and wallah she was heavy enough :-). She was thrilled to get to do it and Preston was not at all sad he couldn't.
