Annual Museum Day

September 3rd was that time again...time to skip school and head to the museums before all the field trips start up for other schools! This year Ella didn't get to come with us sadly; middle school is more fast paced and we didn't want her to miss a day she didn't have to (but don't worry she got a special breakfast and dinner instead). Mike got to come with us for the first time though so the kids were excited about that!
The traffic getting to the museum was worse than usual, but once we arrived we had the place entirely to ourselves which was awesome. Our first stop was at the natural history museum where we went to butterfly center, checked out the main exhibits (the energy hall is always my personal favorite) and then ate some lunch before heading to the Children's Museum. The kids LOVE the Children's museum and we spent most of our time in the inventors area building lego cars to race, playing with robots and creating a movie. Before we knew it we had to leave and head home so we could get Ella from school.
This is one of my favorite traditions!
