Port 2: Roatan, Honduras (Zip-n-Dip)

The next day, the 25th, we woke up in Roatan and it was love at first site...absolutely gorgeous and jungle-like. We were doing our excursion with Mike's family and it was fun to have the whole day with them at this port. We had arranged our "Zip-n-Dip" excursion with Bodden Tours who we found through Trip Advisor, my go to when planning trips, and they were awesome! They sent us detailed info on where to meet them and it was nice to have a van and driver to ourselves for the day.
We headed to the zip lines first. It was raining pretty hard when we arrived so we started out meeting the animals. The monkeys were not really into sitting with us at first but eventually we all got a picture with them (and one pulled Preston's hair, poor guy, haha). Addie was SO excited about the parrots and macaws...especially the rainbow macaws. I LOVE her happy smile in those picture.
The zip lines were SO fun! Preston was pretty nervous about it and I was nervous about how Ella would do since she had a hard time on a ropes course that was high earlier this fall, but after everyone tried the first easier line they all LOVED it! Addie was the most adventurous and the first to try hanging upside down as she went, although the other kiddos ended up going for it too. The scenery was pretty good, but the highlight of this zip line course was how many lines there were for sure! We got to keep zipping around forever!
When done we asked our driver to take us to get some good local food for lunch before heading to the beach. It was nice to sit and relax a bit and eat some yummy food. We ended up having the perfect amount of time left at the beach for what we wanted to do. It was pretty crowded and very touristy (lots of people trying to sell you things) but we walked down a bit and were able to get away from the worst of it. All the kids tried snorkeling and had fun out in the water with Mike and Meema and Papa. One of these times I'll try it, but for now I was content to keep an eye on the kids who were in the sand at any given time :-). Addie once again was the one who loved it the most. Both she and Preston stayed out quite awhile and both got a little cut up from the coral, but thought it was worth it :-). Then it was back to the ship to clean up for dinner!
As we drove around Roatan it reminded me a lot of how Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica looked...which means I loved it ;-).
(Although looking at these pictures I wish I'd had my good camera with me, with the rain and the sand it was so nice to not be stressed about something happening to it. Overall the little waterproof Nikon I got did a pretty good job.)

I had a hard time working the video on my little camera unfortunately. Both times I thought I recorded the kids on ziplines this day and the next I totally missed it :(. I got these two little clips that I thought were savable though.

Mike's fam stopped to shop and we happen to see them walking in when we were out on our balcony so they snapped this :-)

It was another amazing day and then so nice to come back to our room on the ship all clean and settled in still. It was around this point I decided I loved cruises haha!
