Partying for Preston's 7th

When your big sister has a swim meet on your actual birthday, you get to start celebrating early :-).
Friday the 13th was going to be a busy day with all of us not home together until late that night, so we decided to do our little family celebration the night before Preston's birthday so he didn't have to wait so long to open his presents (which he was dying to do of course). So, on the night of the 12th when everyone was back from their activities we sang, had cupcakes and let him open his presents from us (which were almost all Pokemon related along with some new Magic Treehouse books from Meema and Papa).

The next morning, Friday, was his REAL birthday and Preston had requested breakfast in bed ("because we do that for you, mom"). I had to hurry to the donut shop early to pull that off and he was so excited to eat in his bed haha! He's so cute :-).
Then it was off to school where we couldn't have lunch with him because of state testing going on but were able to still drop off treats for him to share with his class.

The rest of his birthday weekend was spent at the pool for Ella's meet, but since that means unlimited electronics time for him, it really couldn't have worked out better!
On Sunday after church we had his family party where he had picked pizza and dessert pizza for the meal. He was spoiled with lots and lots more Pokemon cards, toys and even a pillowcase from Nana. He thought it was the best birthday ever and couldn't wait to count how many Pokemon cards he now had!
As soon as we get his well-check done later this week I'll get my blog post all about Preston at 7 years old done!

putting candles in a dessert pizza proved to be tricky...it totally looks like we were handing him a plate of fire :-)!
