true love means filling out this ridiculous application for the Katy version of gifted and talented because your child's teacher (Addie's) pretty much begs you to. If the teacher thinks she should be tested, shouldn't the school just test her?!

Hello to Adele in Houston!

Oh, Adele. She is undoubtedly the most amazing vocalist I have ever heard and I adore her personality. We would most definitely be best friends if we ever met ;-)!
Almost exactly one year prior to seeing her in Houston Mike and I had the once in a lifetime chance to see her perform at Radio City Music hall in NYC, her first show in the US in years. That trip will always be one of my favorites ever!
Fast forward to this year and Adele was closing her US tour in Houston! It was destiny to be able to be at her first show in the states and her last :-).
She played two sold out nights, Tuesday the 8th and Wednesday the 9th. On Tuesday I went with a group of girlfriends and we splurged on a gold VIP package that was so worth it. We were about 12 rows back from the stage in the dead center which meant we had an amazing view and that she walked RIGHT by us!!! We stopped for dinner on the way and then got down to our seats to wait for the show.
Mike and Ella were planning to go that night as well and in a last minute turn of events Addie and Preston got to join them. Our family loves her, but especially Preston who will belt out the songs in the car louder than the rest of us. He was one lucky little guy to have this be his first concert ever! They were way up high, but they were there and they had a blast as well.
On Wednesday, the last show, Mike and I went on a date to complete our Adele circle of concerts haha. I was a little nervous that the show itself wouldn't be as enjoyable after having such an amazing experience the night before, but no matter where you are at an Adele show you are blown away. It was actually pretty cool to see it all again from an entirely different perspective and having Mike with me was of course the best part :-).
We were all in agreement that the next time Adele tours (which sadly probably won't be for a long time), we are willing to shell out the big bucks for the top level experience. It is worth it! Also, she has no opening act...she is a genius haha!
All the photos and videos are from my phone (and some from Ella too) but it did a pretty darn good job of capturing the magical night. I seriously watched the videos for days afterward and on Thursday night Mike watched the NBC airing of the Radio City Music hall show again because we were having Adele withdrawals.
Let the fun begin...

She was asking where people were from and when this girl asked if she could sing a song, Adele told her if she was brave enough to ask then she better let her. She was 17 and was actually really good!

Then it was over...almost :-)! She came out for an encore back on the main stage and performed two more songs.
