On to the Next!

Once again it was a rude awakening coming back to our normal life duties after an amazing vacation. Just avoiding that feeling alone is reason enough to constantly travel :-)!
It wasn't all bad though, the kids were excited to get back to their activities and Mike and I were excited to get back to all our favorite restaurants, haha.
Preston was thrilled to have Oliver join his lego class! It's been fun to see these two become real friends now that the 3 year age difference isn't as noticeable.

Trying out a new playground before piano lessons

I love when Preston asks Mike to send me pictures when I'm not home.
Showing off his big bath bubble and his cool origami hat...

We have said many prayers on behalf of a sweet family in my parents' ward who we also know. The last few months were especially long and hard for them and I have thought of them often, especially this week now that Mark has passed away. It truly has been inspiring to read everyone's memories and positive experiences with him and see the love so many had for him because of the great guy he was. I know his wife Amy the best of the family, but did pictures for them one year and every interaction I have ever had with either of them has always been of genuine kindness. I hate cancer, seriously.

A couple of the girls in our YW class planned and carried out a fun "flour fight" activity. I joined in the craziness and it really was a blast!

I have been doing a lot of clearing out of closets/cupboards and found this ukulele my dad brought back from Hawaii when I was younger. I was a weird kid and wrote all that on the box at some point, but when Mike pulled it down he thought my dad had written it (understandably since it says "from dad" haha) and had little kid writing, which for some reason had me dying laughing :-). I still laugh now when I see this picture!

We gave in and let the kids get hermit crabs. They really want to get a bearded dragon and a snake but we have told them we have too many trips coming up to get a pet right now and after how much they loved playing with the hermit crabs in costa rica, figured this would be a good hold-over. Going in I thought it would be really cheap as well, but it turns out that by the time you buy everything they need for their "habitat" they aren't so cheap after all :-). The kids really have had fun with them though...and, so far anyway, they have survived!
