We have had a great start to our summer! The first day back from my girls weekend was a bit rough...thrown back into mom-mode and wanting to get the kids on a new schedule for summer...but we are in a groove now with lots of pool time, yummy food and trying to keep the electronic usage down.
We are taking advantage of $1 kid movies at the Alamo (the kids love it), having each child pick a dinner and helping me make it each week (the kids love it), water slide fun (the kids love it), having the kids research places on our upcoming trip (the kids DON'T love it haha), and doing some chores I don't make them do during the year when we are all busier (the kids don't love it).
Addie and Preston continue their love/hate relationship ;-), and we are all enjoying having Ella around a little more than during the school year. There are a lot of swim practices to keep straight but it gets us up and going in the morning and gets everyone some exercise so I will be sad when half of them end at the end of the month (Ella never gets a break haha!).
So far, so good!
surprise treats from Nana
On Sunday a friend of Mike's from a long, long time ago was in the area and was able to come to our ward and then over for dinner after church. The kids got a long great and had a blast and we enjoyed getting to talk with Jared and Sue!
We spent a day at Splashway Water Park and loved it. If only it wasn't quite so far away...it was much less crowded than Typhoon TX and you can bring your own food in, not to mention the wave pool was WAY better according to the kids ;-).
